It started out as a pretty normal weekend until I found out Linen n Things was having a national closing sale. Of course Pier 1 and Michael's are right next door. Needless to say the 'spending freeze' ended for 3 short hours.

We used to have a plain corner in our freshly re-painted guest bathroom.
Found this little self watering gem at Michael's and just knew with a little TLC is would work nicely.
The guest bathroom has a tropical theme going complete with pictures of African wildlife when you are sitting on the ca bode ~ I like to see guests reactions to it ~ a piece of the unexpected for our guests.
Perhaps a bit more TLC is needed ~ some grasses? Let me know what you think.
I attempted to get a larger shot of this little piece of paradise but, it's a small guest bathroom.
Part Two of the 'spending freeze' on Tuesday!

It is amazing to me why we feel the need to accesorize out bathrooms with plants and flowers. Some go all out with candles and incense. My daughter loves the garden tub and the lavender scents and the whole nine yards. I have even decorated past bathrooms with angels or birds, sand and shells, etc. What is the reasoning for our "Marthaness." I try to get in and out of the bathroom as quickly as possible. I only take showers never a long soothing bath (I have a phobia about dirty water), so why do I go to all the trouble of making it so homey? Doesn't make much sense to me, but that being said, I love the photos of your bathroom decor and it sounds as if you got some bargains on your shopping spree.

I'm happy just to keep the towels off the floor ;).

Very pretty! And self-watering is always good (says the woman who has killed every green thing ever entrusted to her care... thank God kids and puppies aren't green! ;)
